FoxyProxy 4.2.4

proxy management | proxy switcher | proxy changer | proxy | manage | switcher
Firefox, SeaMonkey and Thunderbird extension that enables advanced users to define and manage multiple proxies for arbitrary URLs

FoxyProxy is a Firefox extension that allows users to define and manage multiple proxies for individual URLs.

It comes packed with an extensive set of configuration parameters that mainly cater to power users, and it is also supported by SeaMonkey and Thunderbird.

Once installed, FoxyProxy creates an icon between the address bar and search engine bar in Firefox, that you can click to bring up the configuration dialog dedicated to proxies, proxy and pattern subscriptions, global settings, quickly and automatically adding proxies, and logging.

When adding a new proxy to the list, you can select direct Internet connection, manual, system or automatic proxy configuration. A list with URL patterns can be populated as well, and it is possible to create a whitelist or blacklist, as well as add wildcards or regular expressions.

If you want to insert a new proxy subscription, all you have to do is set a name, description, URL, refresh rate, format (IP address:Port), proxy time, and obfuscation. Similar rules apply to each new pattern subscription you submit.

In addition, you can enable "QuickAdd" to create a dynamic URL pattern to a proxy when triggering a hotkey, as well as specify a pattern to identify blocked websites via "AutoAdd". All activity is recorded to a log. These are just some of the options provided by FoxyProxy.

The add-on does not burden Firefox's performance, as we haven't come across any issues throughout our evaluation. Unfortunately, it is not intuitive for less experienced users. If you prefer other web browsers, you can check out FoxyProxy for Chrome or Internet Explorer.

FoxyProxy is a Firefox extension that comes as an advanced proxy management tool.

FoxyProxy offers more features than SwitchProxy, ProxyButton, QuickProxy, xyzproxy, ProxyTex, TorButton, etc.
Here are some key features of "FoxyProxy":
  • Define which proxy to use (or none!) for arbitrary URLs using wildcards, regular expression and other conveniences

  • Temporarily or permanently disable a proxy with the click of a button
  • Out-of-the-box support for Tor - zero configuration
  • Optional status bar information about which proxy is currently in use
  • Full Proxy Auto-Config (PAC) support
  • Unobtrusive presence, stable execution, premier support

  • Thunderbird 3.0a1pre and later
  • Firefox 3.1b3 and later
What's New in This Release:
