Taking notes while browsing the web is an activity that most of us do in order to remember where we left off with reading an article or highlighting important details for later review. If you are an Opera user and looking for a way to take notes or to change the way you jot down important information, V7 Notes can be of help.
Sidebar dependent
As with most of the extension, after you install it, a shortcut will be placed in the bookmark menu. However, the shortcut appears to be of no use, as the add-on functionality is strictly related to the sidebar.
Two methods of taking notes
The simplest way to create a note entry is to use the new Note button from the UI's header. The quickest way though is by selecting a piece of text and using the "make note" feature added in the context menu.
The way you add a new note dictates how it will look. For example, going with the first method results in an empty item, designated as a new note, with no content or icon. On the other hand, if you use the context menu entry and snag a paragraph from a page, the note will be titled after the site's name and will bear its logo.
Organizing the notes
As you'll most likely create an extensive list of notes, you must determine how they're placed. Use the drag and drop feature to move a note up or down the list, and the context menu to cut, copy, or to remove them.
Furthermore, you can create folders that will help with reducing the space taken up by independent notes.
Import/export your notes
Importing notes from older versions of Opera — like Opera 12 or any version built using the initial Presto engine — can be quickly done by accessing the add-on's options. There you can import/export your current notes or import older ones saved as HTML or ADR. As a quick mention, everything you export will be saved using the JSON format.
